Welcome

Welcome to Dagobah-System.Com

This site is meant to be a place where technology professionals and accomplished hobbyists can get and share information on a range of technology related topics. I’m still trying to figure out how far to take this Star Wars theme thing. Clearly not much is done with it here other then the name of the site. So you may see some dramatic changes in themes, terms etc… as I explore the level of nerdyness I want to incorporate. I think it would be a shame and somewhat of a disappointment to people who visit a site called “dagobah-system” and not get a Star Wars theme, but then again will serious professionals put any stock in a site drenched in Sci-Fi references and graphics?

That’s where I’m at. keep visiting and watching for updates.

My personal experience with VMware’s ESXi. Part 1

My personal experience with VMware’s ESXi. Part 1

I finally did it, I broke the piggy, purchased a bunch of hardware and built myself a new “server” for my house. My intention was to VM the crap out of this thing in order to reduce the shear number of single purpose machines in my house.

Apple is all over it!

Apple unleashes this snarky ad in response to the release of Windows 7 yesterday.

Windows 7 Release Party!...Continued

Windows 7 Release Party!...Continued

Well... The release party was SWEET! Fancy venue (see it here: http://www.greenvalleyranchresort.com/entertainment/the-pond.php ). There was an open bar, food, flat screen monitors everywhere with reps demoing the various features and inprovements with Windows 7. They also had some demos for the new SharePoint and the 2010 series of products.

This could be Mac's salvation IMHO.

Ok, this is exactly what Apple needed to do!

Which ever employee it was at Apple that came up with this idea and followed it through should be given a gold star.

Windows 7 Release Party!

I wanted to write a quick blurb regarding Windows 7 before I attend a vendor sponsored release party tonight.

Power Cords a Thing of the Past?

Kind of going along with not needing actual words to notify you of important messages, Dagobah-System.com asks the question, "Who needs power cords anymore?"

Apparently, the age of wireless electricity transfer isn't too far away. Watch Eric Giler's presentation on WiTricty's method of powering electronic devices via wireless electricity.

Watch this!

Watch this!

How cool is this thing? http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/watches/c16c/ It's a retro-looking watch that will display your caller ID and alert you of text messages from via bluetooth.

Lists using actual words? What? That's SOOOO first half of 2009

Yeah, really? You're Twitter feeds still use words to indicate a new entry? What? Do you still have one of those translucent beepers too, and a [snicker] land line home phone [snicker].

Games my computer can actually run

Thanks to an actually GOOD episode of X-play on G4 TV this week, I've been introduced to a site called GOG.COM.
