SparkFun's Dumpster Dive Part 1 (I hope)

In a rare occurrence of luck, I was able to score one of SparkFun's Dumpster Dive boxes. If you are unfamiliar with the Dumpster Dive it's pretty much what you'd expect. Sparkfun folks run around the office and fill boxes with 1 1/2 pounds of electronic goodness and sell it for $10. Much of this stuff would end up discarded if they didn't do this, so what you end up with is truly a mystery. Anyway, I'm super excited. So I'm going to post a video of the opening and list a complete inventory as soon as it comes in.

UPDATE: I had to share this. SparkFun is one of the big hobby-tronics companies out there, and clearly is one of the dominating companies in that market. However, I have to say, they haven't let their growth prevent them from taking care of their customers. I had noticed my Dumpster Dive hadn't shipped yet and I was reading in the forums that other people had already gotten theirs. I was afraid that I had screwed something up with my payment or whatever, so I sent them an email asking about the status of my order. This is what I got back,

"Hello Brian,

I do apologize for the delay. Due to a glitch in our system we managed to over sell the Dumpster Dive and we were scrounging around our offices searching for enough junk so that we could build more for those we over sold to. We did find enough to build all of the Dumpster Dives we need so you should get your Dumpster Dive. It will most likely ship out next week since we still need to build them.

Please let me know if there is anything we can help you with.

Have a great day!"

How cool is THAT!?!! They could have simply refunded everyone's money and moved on, but SparkFun understands their customers. They know that the people who buy from SparkFun would rather have their STUFF than a refund. They know this. So, instead of just an apology and giving everyone's $10 back, they are actually putting together a second batch of Dumpster Dive boxes. That's awesome. The contents could literally be anything at this point. I imagine they had some sort of "Go/no-go" criteria for the original boxes, but now they have to dip back into their inventory and find MORE stuff. Anyway, I'm excited. I'm hoping that one of the new Tek "6-in-1" Scopes falls into MY box, but I'm not counting on it. :)

Anyway, high-five to SparkFun for understanding their customers.
